How do I find out what version I am running

If your PC has the icon My Computer  (either located on the desktop or on the Start Menu) , then there is a good chance it will be either XP,2000 or 98/95. To confirm this, right click on the My Computer icon and then left click on the Properties option. This window will appear :

In this window (titled System Properties), it shows that this version of Windows is XP. It also gives the version release 2002 and what service pack is installed - 3 . These pieces of information can be very useful for different reasons.
